I am currently trying to get inside Bright's mind. If I examine past events as he perceives them happening, then we might be able to take a step in the right direction to figuring out where he's headed now.
All of this was referenced on his blog or has been told to me by those who know him.
1974-1979: "Joseph Bright", real name unknown, is born.
1997: Stories later used in the Wyoming Incident are posted on various sites around the internet.
March 3rd, 1999: Bright is found wandering East 3rd Street of Lusk, Wyoming with a severe head wound. He is found to be amnesiac and is sent to live at a hospital in Cheyenne.
1999-2004: Bright lived in Cheyenne. His doctors noticed that, aside from his amnesia, he seemed to suffer from other mental issues. It was suspected he had borderline personality disorder (not to be confused with multiple personality disorder). He did odd jobs in the city, saving up money.
2004: On the recommendation of one of his doctors, Joseph moves to Huron, California and is able to get an apartment for himself. It is hoped that he will make steps to build his own life. An acquaintance of his doctor in Cheyenne promises to check in on him weekly.
Early 2007: The Wyoming Incident begins. Bright becomes convinced that he knows the faces in the videos and that the stories have some sort of significance for him. These suspicions are heightened by the game's connection to Lusk. He obsessively follows the game.
Mid-to-Late 2007: The Wyoming Incident dies down, and Bright becomes displeased with the lack of videos and the direction the story takes. He continues to follow the story on his own terms.
April 2009: Fed up with not being able to travel for an extended period of time while under "casual surveillance", he leaves his apartment, barely explaining his absence with a hastily written later. He starts a blog to rant about the Wyoming Incident and to supposedly detail his own adventures while "playing the game".
May 2009: Bright somehow finds a seventh Wyoming Incident video. He has not yet attempted to explain it.
