Earlier I spoke with a gentleman who informed me that details about what goes on here may be released on Art Bell's Coast to Coast, unless I forbade it. I do not want to hinder Father Paranoia's plans in any way. I allowed it.
This will cause a spike in the population akin to what happened when Something Awful discovered us. My children are usually not here to help out, so many of the "moderating" tasks I undertake alone. No offense, but I do not really trust any of you to moderate.
So there will be a cap on the number of registered users. 333 active users, tops. That will be shown on the forum statistics as 336, as three have been banned already.
You can still take part of what goes on here, though you will have no direct contact to speak with me personally. If you want to join, I suggest you do so soon.

I am disappointed that this is going to be publicized. This means even more fools will be posting on here, ultimately, to be banned. However, I think that your decision is final, and should not be questioned. I will see this through to the end regardless of what happens.

Hopefully, we'll get a few of the right ones in among the riff-raff.

I am a bit disappointed myself. Idiots will be coming out of the woodwork, but I will stay to see this through and contribute any way I can.

I don't know, I think, hey, the more the merrier. As we've seen, trolls and idiots will be dealt with by ilovetofix promptly and effectively, so I'm not worried about that.

Thank you for at least being somewhat proactive about this.

I have an idea that I think will work.
I will approve ten accounts at a time. If they are composed of mostly useless people, I will dispose of said useless people. This will make "trolls" easy to manage.
The cap limit is still 333 for active accounts.

Bring 'em on, there's quite a few complex outside-the-box thinkers in that group. Not to mention, uber-cool in a geeky sort of way. And if you are wanting to affect a lot of people to change the course of history, C2CAM has a HUGE listener base, and would be a great way to get the message out. I'll keep my trollbat handy.

I think ten at a time is a great idea. Thank You, and I am sorry we won't get to speak privately.

Although I'm not too sure about a huge number of people being here, I'm confident in your ability to maintain control.

Ten at a time IS a great idea. If it gets around to a certain group that it's impossible to get approved (because if something on the internet takes more than five minutes, of COURSE it's impossible!), more of the same type are likely to lose interest and give up.

Being able to weed out the good from the bad is a great idea. Hopefully, we get more good than bad.

Darnit, I liked being a part of this small, special group. And I hate Art Bell. Haven't listened to him since 1998.

Here is the message I received concerning Bell. I am not sure if it was genuine or an attempt at making me nervous.
The person who sent me this may step forward if they wish to. I already know who they are.

I'm listening to Art Bell tonight, for the first time in eight years. Better be worth it.

I should hope this won't affect our proceedings much. It's been a good journey so far, and I should hope we will not be hindered by dead weight.

this is already on a ton of well named message boards besides SA, as I'm sure you know. I back any decision you decide to make regarding new members, but know that we will get a lot of shit members, but a lot that are concerned with the cause and what you would have us do.

I will step forward. I sent that PM. I did not have my friend call in tonight because Art Bell was on and he was doing a special and he gets a little temperamental if you change the topic to much. I have talked with Lex (the web producer of Coast to Coast) and had him look into this. I will be trying to reach George Norrie himself come Monday if I still can call in the few favors I have with local radio stations. Either way I will be calling into the show on Monday (starts at 1:00AM EST and 10:00PM PST) hopefully I will hear back from them before then and they will do a segment on it. I encourage all of you to call in as well.

I may be there. After listening to Art Bell tonight I was reminded of why I stopped in the first place.

I am a newly registered user. If i'm slow to respond on threads as they update, it's simply because it takes me a while to collate information and make sense of it. This whole thing is such a lot to take in. And yet that in turn makes it fascinating.

Love, how do you feel about something awful and Art Bell discussing this forum? Your post almost sounded like you didn't like it, but would allow it to happen because of Paranoia.

Wow...why does all this stuff happen when I can't get on a computer! I remember being one of the handful of people involved with this from the start, and now they're talking about 333 people being on here?! I don't know how I feel about that.

Yes, but at least 333 is the cap, right? After that no more people can get involved, and what are the odds that all 333 are going to be...extremely active? Not that i can say much considering I was only approved today. Still, I think having more people committed to the cause can only be a good thing (with the exception of trolls and so on)

I doubt that all 333 (if that many even register) will be incredibly active. We have a large percentage of mostly silent posters already. If you are one of these silent posters, do not worry, so long as you follow the story and there are plenty of active users, you will not be banned.

I had no problem with Something Awful. They seem mostly intelligent, though the size of the site has resulted in a couple of worthless people clinging on to us. That can be ignored. I was not as excited about Art Bell. For one, I knew it would attract an unimaginable number of people. I wanted the population to grow more progressively. Secondly, I have heard that some of them are not all there. I feel uncomfortable with dealing with people who may already be too familiar with Father Paranoia, people who may want to work against him. Oh well.
