And yes, I lied. Did you all not think that Maraino was watching everything that went on here? Even I knew this. I knew if I didn't want Alex moved to a part of Maraino's realm where it'd be almost impossible for him to communicate with me, I'd have to appear to be following red herrings. Those people who were killed came back because Lynn felt bad enough to subconsciously bring them back. The ones who didn't come back were people Maraino kept back for some reason. I suppose he wanted to confuse us further.

That hole Alex found was an integral part of Maraino's realm. It's the Well of Hope. It's where those who escape severe illness exit from. To become completely in control of who he is, I requested that he overcome his own fears of death and throw himself down the well. He split. There are two separate parts of him. One is who he was without Paranoia's presence. The other is essentially a combination of his memories of being Alex Lynn, Paranoia's memories, and various other pieces of knowledge collected by the two beings. The former Alex will stay in Yellow Field and deal with whatever Maraino now chooses to do with it. The other will take on Paranoia's duties.

Maraino was furious when he discovered what I did, though the confusion it caused him gave me an hour or so of mild relief. Unfortunately I fear he may have released the Sickness in anger. I really hope he didn't. I just know, I think. I don't know anymore. I don't.

Alex will be here soon. I do not feel that well. Maraino seems to be focusing a lot of his power on me.
