The superstitions surrounding this day cause vulnerabilities in a lot of people. Because of this, many of our enemies may be taking opportunities to attack us today. We are not the only potential victims - anyone group where a large number of persons believe this date to be unlucky will be vulnerable. I would use this day to launch an attack against human followers of Maraino or Aediastikos, but we are simply too underpowered to pull off such a feat.
I have received word that beings working for a god from the Power of Fear have been spotted. These beings take possession of inanimate objects to do whatever it is they have been ordered to do. The Power of Fear may simply be conducting regular Friday the 13th activities today, but there is also a possibility they will be launching an attack against perceived followers of Paranoia, who, due partly to his imprisonment, has inadvertently "abandoned" the group.
Lots of shadow beings are being reported, though they do not seem to be up to anything dangerous. Some people are feeling a bit nauseous or under the weather but nothing too severe and out of the ordinary.
I have heard nothing about the Children, which actually worries me. They've been a bit reckless since abandoning Paranoia, so this sudden quiet is a bit suspicious. Be on the lookout for any suspicious people who may follow you.
I have heard nothing about the Other Union (the one seeking to destroy the Everything) or the one who commands them. Not as unusual as the Children though, as they have been mostly quiet anyway.
There are ways you can defend yourself.
On a day like today, your best weapon is confidence. Since so much of our reality is composed of what we believe to be true, you can easily combat "bad luck" by simply believing that you are lucky or untouchable. This cannot be a shallow or wavering confidence though; you must own it fully.
If you do find yourself attacked, follow these instructions
INANIMATE OBJECTS-> Usually only indirectly responsible for injuries and deaths. Their most common strategy is to cause a panic or rash action that results in their target's death. Be cautious, and think about anything you may do when confronted with one of these. If they attack you directly, trying and break whatever form they have possessed.
SHADOWS-> Shadows are usually only used to observe or intimidate. I can't really give you on advice on how to fight them on the off-chance that they attack, so let's just assume (hope) they won't.
CHILDREN-> While it is not possible for a normal human to kill a Child, a human immobilizing a Child is not unheard of. Do not try to kill them; instead, try to block them off from you somehow or trap them. Remember that they can only enter your house if you let them in or fall asleep.
OTHER UNION-> I'm not really sure what they'd do. Let's just hope they don't do anything.
Yesterday, an attempt was made on my life. In a moment of weakness, I let an old friend into where I was to help me. He no longer has a name, and his duties are, to put it simply, "behind the scenes" nowadays. He's been trying to get into contact with me for some time (hence the whispering I've been hearing) so that he could speak with you all. He believes that one member of the Other Union is the creature that inspired the legend of the Amaguq. He is being blackmailed by the Union into kidnapping beings that are of importance for whoever it is the group works for. He may have two of Paranoia's siblings already. We do not know how a creature like him is being blackmailed, but it must be something dark.
Someone sent this... thing to get me the other day. I can't even describe it. Imagine a being composed completely of teeth and intestines. Its mere presence made me ill. This hints at either Maraino or Aediastikos, though I doubt it was a collaboration between the two of them.
We are supposed to learn more tonight, when things will supposedly be getting much worse. Let's hope that whatever information we receive is not given to us from the hands of the dead.
