There was an Ancient God who was worshiped by many of the first people. He was a God of Unknown and Enlightening Knowledge. As times moved on and things changed, he found the number of his followers to be slowly diminishing. When his final follower died, he was instantly offered membership with the Power of Knowledge. Joining this union would allow him to retain many powers that he would otherwise lose. He turned down the offer, making many negotiations to keep only his immortality.
For years he wandered the mortal world. He began to study so that one day he could truly know as much as his followers had believed he did. His wandering came to an end when he became stuck in an isolated cave in the tropics. No one knows exactly how he escaped, but his story has always been that the Everything, in the form of a gigantic human, tore away the rocks that had trapped him and rescued him. It then told him that it admired his relentless pursuit of knowledge and humility. The Everything then told him as much about the nature of Existence as one can tell.
The Lost God then went into hiding. During this time, he crafted a book that would tell the world what the Everything told him
He made a strange move, however. Instead of returning to the humans and turning himself into a prophet, he spent his time preaching the contents of his book to Gods, Muses, Demons, etc. His account of what happened was interesting, surprisingly easy to comprehend, and rational. It was hailed as the only perfect explanation for our reality. He amassed quite a following.
Many of the more powerful Gods began to worry. They believed that he was lying, and that he had come up with a rather insidious plan: instead of becoming a God with human followers, he seemed to be attempting to have the Gods themselves follow him. If they began to worship him, he could use their power to do almost anything he wished.
His critics had trouble stepping forward. To attack him would be to create a schism that could start a massive war.
His book is what this thread is mostly about.
He stated that the Existence had not given birth to the Everything and the Nothing (the most popular theory of how things began - known as the "Great Birth"), but that Existence had divided itself in two. According to him, the Everything and the Nothing were just different components of the same being.and not some massive, inter-connected pair of siblings. You may not realize why this difference is of so much importance.
If the Everything and the Nothing are each composed of an equal amount of the Existence and are not truly inter-connected, then one can exist without the other. Until he brought about this theory/belief, there was a peaceful, secure feeling. We felt safe knowing that any attack waged against us by the Nothing would be suicidal.
It also disputed the ancient belief that duality rules all. This would completely negate many measures and the like put into effect by the Gods.
Besides completely reinventing many of the origin beliefs the Deity community held, he made many predictions. Let's go over some of these.
"Everyone knows of the things that may happen come the end of Destiny's Path [note: 2012]. What many fail to see is that the War will be a simple distraction. It will be the greatest mask ever worn."
"There are three stories that must never be told. They must never be given the chance to connect."
"He spoke of things I cannot fully explain. He spoke of the Seven Riders, the true angels, who would end the War. These Seven will punish mankind for its rash behavior. They will then punish us, the ones who should have guided them towards a better world. Our failures will not go unnoticed. The strangest thing of all is that they may not even know what they are doing."
"The humans will sense the War. Their behavior will slowly begin to change. They will become more aggressive and more paranoid. This will mask the utter terror each one of them will feel in their hearts. Violence will inspire even more violence and they, perhaps not even fully realizing what they are doing, will begin their own War. The Everything... only told me this about the humans' War: it has the potential to end their existence. All the power that we have invested within them shall be lost. Let me speak the key line again: it has the potential."
"The forms of the Seven Riders were shown to me before he left. I was stunned, for these seemed like boys compared to the hardened guardians I expected. Will they even know what they are? I do not think so."
For a long time, the Lost God's prophecies and revelations were some of the few things considered sacred amongst most of the Gods. Unfortunately, he made some mistakes.
There are other prophecies he made (one of a great flood that would devastate millions during the 20th century, humans reaching almost total enlightenment in the '80s, etc.) that never came true. This is what ended his good reputation.
Those who disapproved of him quickly snagged onto these mistakes, calling him a liar and blasphemer. He was... put away.
He never denied any of the accusations lobbed at him after his earlier predictions failed, and when they took him away, he only said one thing.

I believe it is good that we review this information, regardless of its authenticity. There has been a large number of references to seven beings interfering with the War, the question of how the Everything would be destroyed has been raised, and no possible answers must go unignored.
